Privacy Policy
"Privacy is not a setting; it is a structural reality."
Local-First Philosophy
Papyrus is designed to be "Zero-Knowledge" software. We do not own servers that store your documents, transcriptions, or research notes. Every byte of data processed by the application remains on your local physical hardware.
Documents & Data
Your PDFs, notes, and vector embeddings are stored locally in your app data directory. We have no remote access to these files.
Audio & Voice
Transcription is handled by a local instance of Whisper. Your audio never touches a third-party API or cloud service.
No Telemetry
Unlike most modern software, Papyrus does not track your usage "to improve the experience." We do not collect click-stream data, feature usage statistics, or session durations. We don't want to know how you work; we just want you to be able to do it.
Encryption
While your data is physically isolated on your machine, we recommend using disk-level encryption (like FileVault on macOS or BitLocker on Windows) for maximum security. Papyrus respects all system-level permissions and sandboxing protocols.
